Biography

I am a Professor of Biomedical Engineering with interest in medical device development to improve clinical practice in ophthalmology, material characterisation of ocular tissue and numerical simulation of the eye's response to mechanical actions. My background is in structural mechanics, with a first degree in Civil Engineering (first class honours), and MSc and PhD (Cambridge) in Structural Engineering. I have spent most of my professional life in academia after a four year period in industry.
