Biography
Hosiberto B. De Sant’Ana completed his B.S. degree in Chemical Engineering at the Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte (UFRN), Brazil in 1994. He earned his M.Sc. degree (1996) from the Universidade Estadual de Campinas (UNICAMP), Brazil. Professor de Sant’Ana received a D.Ing. degree in Chemistry in 2000 from Université Blaise Pascal/Institut Français du Pétrole, France, working on HPHT reservoir fluids, experimental measurements, and modeling. He is also Process Safety specialist from SENAI/CETIQT/Brazil (2022). Professor de Sant’Ana began his academic career at the Universidade Federal do Ceará (UFC)/Brazil as a Visiting Researcher from the Brazilian National Agency of Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels (ANP) in 2000. In 2002, he joined the UFC as an Assistant Professor at Chemical Engineering Department (CED). He is now Professor of Chemical Engineering. His research focuses on thermodynamics, with special emphasis on PVT analysis, emulsions, petroleum fluids, supercritical fluids technology, and thermofluidynamics and equilibrium of biofuels systems. He served as a Coordinator of the Human Resource Program of the Brazilian National Agency of Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels (ANP) at UFC, from 2007 to 2015. He was also a Coordinator of CAPES/BRAFITEC Program at UFC, from 2013 to 2015. Dr. de Sant’Ana authored over 100 papers in research journals, and he has won numerous awards including Prêmio Petrobras de Tecnologia (Petrobras Technology Prize), in 2005 and 2006. During 2015 and 2016 he was visiting faculty of the University of Calgary at the Schulich School of Engineering; Department of Chemical & Petroleum Engineering.
