Biography
I am a neuroscientist studying how synapse maintains physiologically normal levels of function. My academic journey began with Dr. Vimlesh Kumar at the Indian Institute of Science, Education and Research, Bhopal, focusing on neuronal morphogenesis. Transitioning to postdoctoral research under Dr. C. Andrew Frank at the University of Iowa, I studied the mechanisms underlying neuronal function using Drosophila as a model organism. Continuing as a research scientist, I investigate the molecular basis of neuroplasticity, particularly the homeostatic control of synapse function, using neuromuscular junction as a model system. My recent research focuses on understanding the mechanisms of synapse stability in the context of various disease-related genes. My work converges at the intersection of neuroscience and genetics, unraveling the intricacies of neuronal function and dysfunction within biological systems.
