Biography
Dr. Basma Mostafa is an assistant professor of computer science and operations research. She earned her Ph.D. in 2019 from the University of Montpellier, LIRMM, with a thesis titled "Optimized Monitoring for IoT Networks."
Dr. Mostafa currently heads the computer science department and manages the cybersecurity program at the Faculty of Artificial Intelligence and Computing at Horus University. Before this role, she worked at the Faculty of Computers and Artificial Intelligence at Cairo University, where she advanced through positions as a teaching assistant, lecturer assistant, and assistant professor.
Her expertise encompasses machine learning, simulation, optimization, and IoT. Dr. Mostafa has published several papers in prestigious journals and conferences. Recognizing her contributions to science, UNESCO awarded her the For Women in Science Fellowship in 2017.
