Biography

Research interests
Research activity is aimed at implementation of Machine Perfusion (MP) technique in both pre-clinical and clinical settings. This procedure allows evaluation and reconditioning of isolated grafts before transplantation.
The main focus is the investigation of the bio-molecular and metabolic profile of ex-situ-perfused organs in order to identify the deleterious changes induced by ischemia/reperfusion (IR).
Another relevant research aim is the development of innovative therapeutic strategies based on ex vivo administration of mesenchymal stem cell (MSC)-derived extracellular vesiscles (EVs).

Current position
Biomedical researcher at Fondazione IRCCS Ca' Granda Ospedale Maggiore Policlinico, Milan, Italy.

Education
2014: Master degree in Human Nutrition, University of Pavia; 2009-2013: PhD in Molecular Medicine, University of Milan; 2004-2008: Post-graduate degree in Human Genetics, University of Milan; 1999-2004: Master degree in Medical Biotechnology, University of Milan.
