Biography

I am Associate Professor of Bioengineering at Politecnico di Milano (Italy) where I am lecturer and Director of two biological laboratories, “MINERVA” and “ATHENA”, collectively named “TechnoBiology labs”, where I lead an interdisciplinary research team.

My research activity is focussed on the development of engineered multiorgan technological tools and biohybrid constructs to address brain physiopathological pathways. I led as Principal Investigator cutting-edge projects in the field of Bioengineering, such as: "NANOBRAIN" funded by Cariplo Foundation (Italy); “PEGASO”, funded by the MIUR (Italy); three European projects, the ERC Consolidator Grant “MINERVA”, the ERC Proof of Concept “DIANA” and the ERC Proof of Concept “PROMETEO”, funded by the European Research Council.
