Biography
Eduardo José Melo Lins has been a substitute lecturer in the undergraduate Civil Engineering course at the Escola Politécnica da Universidade de Pernambuco (POLI/UPE) since 2019, and a researcher at the Grupo de Pesquisa de Engenharia Aplicada ao Meio Ambiente (AMBITEC-POLI/UPE). He is currently pursuing a doctorate in Structures with an emphasis on Civil Construction at the Universidade Federal de Pernambuco (UFPE), focusing on the application of BIM methodology for the management of Construction and Demolition Waste (RCD). He holds a Master's degree in Civil Engineering from POLI/UPE (2020), with a specialisation in BIM and Digital Fabrication from UFPE (2023), and in Inspection, Maintenance and Rehabilitation of Structures from POLI/UPE (2018). He also graduated in Civil Engineering from POLI/UPE (2008) and holds a degree in Mathematics from the Universidade Federal Rural de Pernambuco (UFRPE) (2004), in addition to a technical qualification in Edificações from the Instituto Federal de Pernambuco (IFPE) (1998). With extensive professional experience, he works as a Consultant in Water Resources Engineering and Environmental Sanitation, focusing on cost estimation, planning, project supervision, and contract management. His expertise also covers the Civil Construction sector, particularly in infrastructure, industrial, and building projects. Throughout his career, he has accumulated 22 years of experience as a Civil Engineer and Building Technician, with 5 years at the Companhia Pernambucana de Saneamento (Compesa) in partnership with the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), 7 years at Odebrecht Engenharia e Construção S.A., and 9 years at Construtora Queiroz Galvão S.A.
