Biography

Wen Chean Teh graduated from The Ohio-State University, under the mentorship of Timothy Carlson. His Erdos number is four and he is a descendent of the famous logician Alfred Tarski. He is an editor for Bulletin of the Malaysian Mathematical Sciences Society, a Springer Q1 journal. Since joining USM in early 2013, he has published 50 papers in various mainstream MathScinet journals in the area of logic, combinatorics, and theoretical computer science. He is/was the principal investigator of six research grants, including national grants thrice. He received the Chebyshev travel grant award from the International Congress of Mathematicians in 2022 and was an oral presenter in the prestigious congress meetings in both Seoul 2014 and Rio De Janeiro 2018. He also received the best article principal award from the Malaysian Mathematical Sciences Society in 2015 and the Phil Huneke Excellence in Teaching Award from The Ohio State University. He is a regular reviewer for Elsevier and Springer journals, including Discrete Mathematics, Discrete Applied Mathematics, Information and Computation, Theoretical Computer Science, and Acta Informatica, as well as Mathematical Reviews of the American Mathematical Society. Finally, he was an invited speaker of the International Conference on Wavelet Analysis and Graph Theory.
