Biography
Dr. Hasan Özdemir received his B.A. degree in Geography in 2000, his MSc. degree in Physical Geography in 2002 and his Ph.D. degree in Physical Geography from the Istanbul University in 2007 on “Geographic Information System (GIS) and Remote Sensing (RS) Based Flood and Landslide Risk Analysis”. During the PhD, he also attended to “GeoHazard” course in Indian Institute of Remote Sensing (IIRS-İndia), “MultiRisk” course in Bonn University (Germany) and “Study and Management of Geological Risks” course in CERG (University of Geneva-Switzerland). He was then appointed the position of Assistant Professor at the Istanbul University in 2009. He had post-doctorate in School of Geographical Sciences at the Bristol University (UK) on “evaluating scale and roughness effect in urban flood modelling using terrestrial LiDAR data” with TUBITAK foundation. He is now Professor in Physical Geography Division of Uludag University. He has devoted most of his research to GIS and RS based rainfall-runoff modelling, flood modelling, flood risk and geomorphometric analysis in different scale.
