Biography

Born in a reputed family of doctors from West Bengal. Childhood period was nurtured by the grandfather Late Dr. K.P. Mandal who was a freedom fighter, a great philanthropist, educationist and social reformer. Later, groomed and brought under the able guidance of Dr. S.P. Mandal, maternal uncle, a renowned Orthopaedic Surgeon at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, New Delhi. This year i.e. 2011, Dr. Mandal received the prestigious civilian award `PADMA SRI’ for his service to the nation. Working on malaria and other vector borne diseases. specialization on Medical Entomology and also on malaria molecular biology. Wife Dr. Chaitali Ghosh also holds PhD on mosquito genetics working in a MNC on copy editing. Two daughters, both IT engineers working in IT sector. Passion for malaria free world.
