Biography
Dina Sebastião is full-professor of European Studies at the Faculty of Arts and Humanities of the University of Coimbra and is an Integrated Researcher of CEIS20 - Centre for Interdisciplinary Studies, of the University of Coimbra. She holds a PhD in European Studies (2017) and a Master in Contemporary History: Economy, Society and International Relations, with specialization in Portugal and European Integration (2010), by the University of Coimbra. She's currently a member of the Scientific Coordination Board of CEIS20. Her research has been focused on the study of the European Union, under a democratic normative orientation, as a political system in progress, dependent on political and party dynamics at the national level. She has specifically studied the role of political parties in the political system of the EU, dynamics of Europeanisation, the economic and monetary governance of the EU and asylum policy. She has been participating in international conferences and published chapters and articles in peer-reviewed journals and editorial houses. Political science has been a disciplinary core of her research, in intersection with history and political economy.
