Biography

Dr. Raed AbuOdeh is a Professor of Molecular Biology and Microbiology at the University of Sharjah (UoS), Sharjah, UAE. He received his Ph.D. from Idaho State University followed by a post-doctoral fellowship at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center-Dallas. Subsequently, he earned his spot as a lead researcher at the Valley Fever Center of Excellence- University of Arizona Medical College, Tucson, where he worked on systemic fungal molecular biology. After that Dr. AbuOdeh decided it was time for a change of scenery (and weather) and moved to sunny Sharjah, UAE, where he was offered faculty post at UoS. In addition to teaching, Dr. AbuOdeh is involved in research in the fields of molecular microbiology, diabetes, and cancer.
