Biography

Abomhara is a researcher at the Department of Information Security and Communication Technology, Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU). He received PhD in Information Technology from University of Agder, Norway in 2018, as well as Master’s degrees in Business Administration (MBA) in 2013 and Master’s degrees in Computer Science (M.Sc) in 2011 from Malaysia and Bachelor degree from Libya in 2006. He is also a Certified EU General Data Protection Regulation (EU GDPR) Foundation and Practitioner, as well as a Certified Data Ethics Professional and Data Ethics Facilitator. With over 10 years of research/teaching experience, Abomhara have developed expertise in information technology management, information security management, IT and business digitalization, privacy, and data protection management and governance, and technology ethics. His main research goal is to develop data-driven technology that preserve transparency, accountability, privacy etc.. He has participated in several European, Erasmus+ and the Norwegian Research Council projects (in both technical and managerial roles) and has published multiple journal and conference papers. Abomhara also supervises students at various academic levels, including Bachelor, Master, and PhD programs.
