Biography
Vera R. L. Constantino is Full Professor at Chemistry Institute of Universidade de Sao Paulo (USP), Brazil.
She received her PhD in Chemistry from Universidade Estadual Paulista (Unesp-Araraquara) in 1989 and joined USP in 1990.
She conducted her postdoctoral research at Michigan State University (USA) from 1992 to 1994, working with Prof. Thomas J. Pinnavaia on the reactivity of layered double hydroxides. She was an Academic Visitor at the School of Chemistry, University of Bristol, United Kingdom (2015-2016). She is an Associate Editor of the New Journal of Chemistry (RSC) and an Associate Editor of Applied Clay Science (Elsevier).
Her research interests include the synthesis of layered materials, intercalation chemistry, clay minerals, layered double hydroxides, layered niobates, the exfoliation process, hybrid materials, organic-inorganic nanocomposites, and drug delivery systems.
