Biography

I have studied dentistry and worked in many national and international dental institutions including; Khyber College of Dentistry, Peshawar (Pakistan), Eastman Dental Institute (EDI) London, University College London (UCL) the London’s Global University. Tohoku University Graduate School of Dentistry, Sendai (Japan), Wonkwang University Dental School, Iksan, South Korea and the Royal College of Physicians & Surgeons of Glasgow (UK). I have obtained the Qualifications of BDS, MSc, Certificate in Maxillofacial Prosthodontics, PhD (Prosthodontics), FDSRCPSGlasgow (Restorative Dentistry).

I am the pioneer training supervisor and examiner for the program of fellowship training in prosthodontics of the College of Physicians & Surgeons, Pakistan as well as Supervisor for MSc, M. Phil and PhD Programs at Peshawar Dental College, Peshawar. I have trained and supervised and examined many candidates and scholars sitting for Fellowship, Master of Science, M. Phil and PhD in the basic and clinical dental disciplines. I have widely lectured and presented research papers in both national and international conferences and meetings. I have also published over 120 papers and reviewed more than 200 manuscripts for publications in the various national and international journals.
I have been the Chairman and Member of several professional committees and organizations, colleges and universities in Pakistan and abroad including Pakistan Medical & Dental Council, Higher Education Commission (HEC) Pakistan, College of Physicians & Surgeons Pakistan (CPSP), Pakistan Health Research Council (PHRC), Royal College of Physicians & Surgeons of Glasgow (UK) and the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCFHS). My networking capabilities can be seen from the attendances at International conferences. I am holding a reunion event next year in London for the Eastman Dental Institute London Prosthetic Dentistry class of 1986-8 (See attached News-item published in the BDJ April issue).

I have held the most prestigious positions in my specialty including the President of the Pakistan Prosthodontics Association (PPA) for the Term 2012-13 and the Chairman of the Organizing Committee for the 2ndInternational Conference of the Pakistan Prosthodontics Association that was held in Peshawar in 2013. I have also been elected as the President, Pakistan Forum for Restorative Dentistry. I also have the honour of being the Founder Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of the Pakistan Prosthodontics Association (JPPA).
