Biography
Dr. M V Jagannadham, an accomplished scientist, earned his M.Sc. in Chemistry from Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Hyderabad. He later completed his Ph.D. in Life Sciences at Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. He then pursued post-doctoral research at the Department of Chemistry, Academia Sinica, Taipei, Taiwan. His distinguished career at the Centre for Cellular and Molecular Biology (CCMB) joined in 1983 and retired as Chief Scientist on September 30, 2019. Continuing his academic journey, Dr. Jagannadham served as a Visiting Scientist at CSIR-CCMB, Hyderabad until September 2020, He held the position of Visiting Professor & Scientific Advisor (Proteomics and Metabolomics) at the School of Life Sciences, University of Hyderabad from November 2020 to December 2023. Jagannadham's research primarily focused on protein chemistry and Mass spectrometry. His contributions also include setting up the proteomics facility at CCMB that identified biomarkers for brain tumor Gliomas under CSIR's New Millennium Technology Leadership Initiative (NMITLI). He guided several PhD students and published more than 60 publications in internationally reputed journals. He is a member of American Chemical Society, Member of Association for Biomolecular Resource Facilities (ABRF), Life member of Proteomics Society, India . President, Indo_German NachKontakt Association (Hyderabad, India). Throughout his career, Dr. Jagannadham received recognition for his outstanding contributions. Awards include the "Eminent Mass Spectrometrist" award in 2015 from the Indian Society for Mass Spectrometry, the "Bharat Jyoti" award in 2014 from the India International Friendship Society, and the "Bharat Vikas" award in 2018 from the Institute of Self Reliance, Bhubaneswar.
