Biography

Prof. Dr. Osama Terra is a research Professor at photonics and precision length measurements at the National Institute of standards, Egypt. Dr. Terra received his BSc and MSc from Ain Shams University and his PhD from Institute of Quantum Optics, Hanover University, Germany. He won several awards, including the best student paper award at the EFTF conference at the European Space Agency (ESA) and M.A. Lotfy from the Egyptian Academy of Science. Two patents have been granted to Dr. Terra from the USA and Egypt patent offices. He has established a center of excellence for fiber optical metrology by a fund from the STDF. Recently, He has awarded the prestigious Fulbright fellowship at the University of California, Santa Barbara (UCSB) and offered a year of postdoctoral research there by UCSB.
