Biography

Dr. Nasr Bensalah is actually a Professor of Chemistry with the department of Chemistry and Earth Sciences, at college of Arts and Sciences, Qatar University. Since June 2009, he worked as a Research Scientist with the Department of Chemical Engineering at Texas A&M University at Qatar. Before that he held positions of Associate Professor, Assistant Professor, and Senior Lecturer at University of Gabes in Tunisia. He is still affiliated with Gabes University as associate Professor of chemistry (in leave). He has more than 15 yearsā€™ experience in teaching and research in the field of electrochemistry. His research interests are focused on the applications of electrochemical technologies for water treatment, energy storage, and chemical analysis. This includes developing new materials for electrochemical storage devices and new technologies for water/wastewater treatment to address problems of local, regional and global importance. He developed research in electrochemical methods for water treatment including electrocoagulation, BDD-anodic oxidation, and electro-disinfection for many years. He gained expertise over years in different analytical methods such as chromatography (GC, GC/MS, LC/MS, IC) and spectroscopy techniques (FTIR, AAS, ICP-MS, XRD, XRF, etcā€¦). He is expert in electro-analytical methods for corrosion testing and battery testing including cyclic voltammetry, anodic polarization, electrochemical impedance spectroscopy, and other electrochemical testing specifications. He has published more than 50 papers in peer-reviewed international journals and he has supervised 8 MSc-students and 4 PhD- students.
