Biography

Dr. Marcos J. Ramos-Benitez is an assistant professor at Ponce Health Sciences University in Puerto Rico, and a former National Institute of General Medical Sciences (NIGMS) PRAT fellow at the NIH-Clinical Center. Dr. Ramos-Benitez research aims to elucidate the mechanisms driving severe illness at the level of cellular and molecular networks, focusing on dysregulated immune responses. Moreover, Dr. Ramos-Benitez is a science communicator, founder and president of Ciencia en Tus Manos Inc, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that uses social media to create innovative online programs to promote STEM within Hispanic communities.
