Biography

Cuento con una formación en Maestría de Tecnología química drigida a almentos y un doctorado en Biprocesos lo que me ha permitido dirigir un enfoque de la investigación hacia la aplicación de microorganismos para el desarrollo de soluciones. Esto me ha permitido mantener contactos con las empresas de la región enfocando las necesidades para lograr una mejora de su producción mediante la innovación aplicada con el desarrollo de productos biotecnológicos a partir de los microorganismos seleccionados ( inóculos de microorganismos biopreservantes, producción de biopelículas, microencapsulación de microorganismos, obtención de harinas de alta digestibilidad para alimentación humana y animal). El manejo de estas tecnologías se ha dirigido hacia la potencialización de otros desarrollos y aplicaciones que pueden ser reflejadas en el beneficio de la comunidad y el conocimiento científico.
Actualmente soy profesora titular de la Escuela de Ingeniería de Alimentos de la Universidad del Valle y directora del programa de Tecnología en Procesamiento de Alimentos.
