Mario de la Torre received his PhD in Literary Theory and Comparative Literature from the University of Granada in 2015. After teaching at different universities in Spain (University Complutense of Madrid, University Rey Juan Carlos, University Pablo de Olavide) he joined the University of Cádiz, where he is lecturer in Literature Theory.
De la Torre’s research and teaching interests include queer studies, transmedia storytelling, polysystems theory and comparative literature. In addition to more than 15 articles and book chapters, he is the author of the monograph Generación CinExin, awarded by ASECAN as the best film book of the year 2015. He has lectured in the universities of Heidelberg, Mannheim or Konstanz (Germany), Estadual do Rio de Janeiro (Brazil), Estatal del Valle de Ecatepec (Mexico) among others.
