Biography
Harshani Nadeeshani is a third-year Ph.D. student in Food Science at the Department of Food and Human Nutritional Sciences, University of Manitoba. She received both of her B.Sc. and M.Phil. degrees in Food Science from the University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka. For her Ph.D. research, she focuses on sustainable protein extraction and modification technologies to develop protein ingredients with improved functionality and nutritional quality from emerging crops as sustainable sources for the alternative protein industry. She has published 12 journal articles, 2 book chapters, and many research abstracts in conference proceedings. She has received “The Best Oral Presenter” awards in several symposia and awards in 3MT competitions.
