Her main focus was the identification of novel serum biomarkers for gastric cancer diagnosis and treatment (J Proteome Res. 2013; PLosOne 2013). After completed the PhD, she joined an FCT funded project entitle "The role of sialylation in modulating galectin-3 functions in the metastatic process of canine mammary tumors" under the supervision of Prof. Fatima Gartner (ICBAS, Porto). In 2016, she joined the Copenhagen Center for Glycomics and fully integrated Dr. Henrik Clausen team. Her research resulted in co-authorship in two high impact journals (Glycobioloy 2018; Nature Methods 2018). In 2018 she was hired as Junior post-doc researcher at i3S/University of Porto with a new line of research focused on the development of new strategies for cancer drug discovery based on cancer-associated alterations of glycosylation. During her researcher career she enrol in relevant national and international courses such as Advanced Molecular Technology and Instrumentation for Proteome Analyses (Uppsala, Sweden, 2015), summer schools of Advanced Science on Mass Spectrometry-based Proteomics (Sao Paulo, Brazil, 2017) and course in laboratory animal science Felasa C (Porto, Portugal, 2018). She has been participating in several research projects financed both by national and international institutions. Also, she has been participating in juries of MSc and PhD academic degrees, acting as reviewer for international peer-reviewed journals and successfully supervising MSc and curricular training students. In 2018 she was granted with an FCT project as principal investigator (225k€; FCT PTDC/MED-QUI/29780/2017) to develop new cancer drugs to tackle cancer metastasis. Currently, she is the leader of a team composed of a BSc student, 2 PhD students and a hired junior post-doc researcher. She has a diverse publication record with 23 peer-reviewed papers: 3 as first author, 2 as corresponding author and 1 as a senior corresponding author.
