Biography
Fatemeh Ghasempour received a bachelor's degree in polymer engineering from the Amirkabir University of Technology, but her keen interest in the humanities and philosophy led her to pursue her doctorate in Comparative Philosophy at Alameh Tabatabaei University. She has always linked her philosophical understanding with gender, and her focus has been on gender philosophy and its practical expression in everyday lifestyles. She serves as the faculty member at the Women’s Studies, Woman and Family Research Center, and one of her main research interests is the feminist movements in Iran, their value system and identity expression in social media. In her recent co-authored book, Islamic Feminism in Iran, she deals with the development of Islamic feminism in Iran, particularly during 1990s and early 2000s simultaneous with the rise of religious intellectualism and the reformist government.
