Biography
Fuschia Sirois, PhD, is a Professor in Health and Social Psychology at Durham University, and a former Canada Research Chair in Health and Well-being. Her research focuses on the factors that create risk and resilience for physical and mental health and well-being through their links to self-regulation (how we manage and direct our thoughts, emotions, and behaviours to reach our goals). Her research investigates the temporal and affective aspects of self-regulation and their implications for health and well-being, across a range of populations, including vulnerable populations and individuals living with chronic illness. The role of positive psychology traits and interventions for supporting self-regulation and enhancing well-being is a particular focus of her research.
