Biography
Irina Poddubnaya, Corresponding Member of Russian Academy of Science, Ph.D., Professor, Vice-rector for Educational Work and International Cooperation, Head of Oncology Chair, Russian Medical Academy for Postgraduate Education of Ministry of Health.
Since 1974 she works in the department of oncology, Russian Medical Academy for Postgraduate Education, as assistant lecturer, associate professor, professor, and since 1989 – head of department. In 2003 she was appointed as a vice-rector of Russian Medical Academy for Postgraduate Education. Prof. Poddubnaya is Corresponding Member of Russian Academy of Medical Sciences since 2005 (became Russian Academy of Science in 2013).
Her main sphere of scientific interests includes all aspects of diagnosis and treatment of malignant lymphoproliferative disorders, gastrointestinal stromal tumors and breast cancer; her activities include scientific clinical research, teaching and lecturing, as well as developing international scientific cooperation projects.
In 1994 she received the ESSO Sekiyu Kabushiki Kaisha Research grant for Women (Japan) for her research “Study of different features of Nodal and Extra-nodal B- and T-Cell non-Hodgkin`s Adult Lymphomas and development of effective treatments”. In 2002 prof. Poddubnaya was awarded as a Honorary Educational Worker of Russia.
In 1999-2002 she was a member of Annals of Oncology Editorial Board as a member of the ESMO Publishing Working Group. She is Editor-in-Chief of quarterly journal “Contemporary Oncology” for 15 years, member of editorial boards of journals “Sarcomas”, “Russian Oncology Journal”. Since 2012 she is Editor-in-Chief of Russian edition of Journal of Clinical Oncolog(ASCO).. She is the organizer and chair of annual Russian Conference with International Participation “Malignant Lymphomas”.
Prof. Poddubnaya actively participates in numerous International and Russian National clinical trials as principal investigator or co-investigator. She is member of several leading scientific and hematologic societies including ASCO,EHA, ESMO, MASCC, EBMT, IELSG, and others.
Since 2011 she is the chair of the Russian society of oncohematologists.
She is the author of more than 500 articles, 8 monographies, chapters in manuals. In 2012-2013 she was the editor-in-chief of the Russian National Clinical Recommendations on Diagnostics and Treatment of Lymphoproliferative Diseases.
