Biography

I am a Professor of Epidemiology and Honorary Consultant Gastroenterologist at the University of Nottingham and Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust. My main research interest is in using linked electronic health datasets to carry out clinically relevant epidemiological studies. I have mainly focused on research related to my clinical specialty of gastroenterology and hepatology. More recently I have broadened my horizons to encompass other disciplines including surgery, pregnancy and child health, cancer, alcohol related studies, rare diseases, SARS-CoV-2 and health economics.
