Biography
I am an associate professor of soil science in the Kansas State University Department of Agronomy. I am also a Certified Professional Soil Scientist (CPSS) and Professional Wetland Scientist (PWS). My research focuses on two central topics - hydropedology and root ecology. My interests include root and rhizosphere dynamics, hydropedology, wetland delineation, soil greenhouse gas fluxes, wetland restoration and mitigation, and soil and water conservation. I also conduct research on teaching and learning in college soil science classrooms, and develop open educational resources and open textbooks for the soil science discipline.
