Biography

Leonid M. Bardenshtein graduated Moscow State Medical University named after N.I. Pirogov in 1969. Dr. Bardenshtein continued his postgradute clinical and research education at Moscow Medical Stomatological Institute, later called Moscow State University of Medicine and Dentistry named after A.I. Evdokimov at the Department of Psychiatry (Clinical Ordinatura and Aspirantura consequently). He received his Ph.D. (1974), D.Med.Sc. (1992) at the same Department.
Leonid Bardenshtein has been Professor and Chairman of the Department of Psychiatry and Narcology at Moscow State University of Medicine and Dentistry named after A.I. Evdokimov since 1994.
Since December 2023 Moscow State University of Medicine and Dentistry named after A.I. Evdokimov was renamed to Russian University of Medicine.
Professor Bardenshtein's research interests are in the diagnosis and treatment of mood disorders, schizophrenia and psychosomatic diseases.
Leonid Bardenshtein is a member of the Board of Administration of the Russian Society of Psychiatrists, Member then Fellow (since 1995) of the Collegium Internationale Neuro-Psychopharmacologicum (CINP), Member (since 1995) of the European Psychiatry Association (EPA).
