Biography
Kay Nieselt has a PhD in mathematics from the University of Bielefeld in Germany and is a professor for bioinformatics at the University of Tübingen. Since her Postdoc years in Göttingen, New Zealand and Munich her research interest lies in the field of bioinformatics. Since 2002 she has been the leader of the research group "Integrative Transcriptomics" in the Center for Bioinformatics at the University of Tübingen.
In her group research projects are focused on expression analysis and RNA bioinformatics. During the last years her group has designed algorithms and software systems for the analysis of microarray and RNAseq data. The special focus within this area are visualization methods for highdimensional microarray data, application of machine learning algorithms for pattern/feature distinction, and statistical methods applied to high-dimensional gene expression data.
