Biography

In my early years of study in the field of psychology, I discovered a profound interest in the intersection of psychology and neuroscience. Midway through my undergraduate studies, I had the opportunity to join Dr. Aldo Ferreres's research team, marking the beginning of my journey into the neuropsychology research domain. By the final year of my undergraduate studies, I successfully secured a research initiation scholarship, focused on exploring the cognitive processes associated with reading.
My postgraduate studies in neuropsychology allowed me to further specialize in the field of language. During my doctoral studies, funded by the National Scientific and Technical Research Council of Argentina (CONICET), I explored the presence and types of reading and writing impairments in patients diagnosed with Primary Progressive Aphasia (PPA). My research addressed the intricacies of PPA assessment, particularly in the context of the Spanish language with its linguistic particularities. Additionally, I had the opportunity to undertake a rotation in Madrid, Spain, collaborating with the renowned team of Dr. Jordi Matias-Guiu to deepen my studies in the diagnostic evaluation of PPA.
My professional development has strengthened my interest in language impairments exhibited by patients who suffered of dementia and the peculiarities associated with diagnostic assessment. Currently, I am doing my postdoctoral fellowship with funding from CONICET and under the supervision of Dr. Ricardo Allegri in the Institute of Neurosciences (INEU). My goal is to identify tests that prove useful for the precise diagnosis of PPA and the identification of its variants, especially in low-income contexts. Additionally, I am involved in other projects of Dr. Allegri's team, whose expertise is focused on the field of cognitive impairment and neurodegenerative
diseases.
Ultimately, my passion for research in the field of neuroscience and neurodegenerative disorders is complemented by a deep interest in teaching. I teach at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels, aspiring to impart some of my passion and knowledge to my students.
