Personal information
Biography
I have been working at the interface of technology and medical research for 18 years, most recently as Chief Technology Officer at the Malaghan Institute of Medical Research, New Zealand’s leading independent biomedical institute. Here I have been responsible for building the Hugh Green Cytometry Centre, and leading a team to create a state-of-the-art, one stop shop for understanding cells and other biological entities from the micro-level (DNA, RNA, genes, receptor expression) to the macro-level (tissue structure, cell-cell interactions and 3D reconstruction).
I also have a long track record of successfully leading change, enabling smooth transitions to new states, including the early adoption and roll out of paradigm shifting technology platforms. I am a skilled communicator who enjoys making complex information understandable and exciting for a wide range of audiences.
I am often sought after for my organisation and people leadership skills. I enjoy leading people towards goals and creating a culture of continuous development, improvement and innovation in my teams.
