Biography

Till Voss is the Deputy Head of the Medical Parasitology and Infection Biology Department and leads the Malaria Gene Regulation unit at Swiss TPH. He is also Associate Professor for Molecular Parasitology at the University of Basel. His research interests are the epigenetic control mechanisms that drive antigenic variation and sexual commitment in malaria parasites. Further activities include studies on gametocyte biology and malaria transmission-blocking drug discovery. Voss obtained his MSc and PhD in Zoology from the Swiss TPH/University of Basel. He was then a Postdoctoral fellow at the Walter and Eliza Hall Institute of Medical Research, Australia, before returning to Swiss TPH/University of Basel in 2006 with a Swiss National Science Foundation Professorial fellowship.
