Biography
Dr. Helen C. (Nelly) Leligou is currently (from Oct. 2017) associate professor at University of West Attica. From 2007-2017, she acted as assistant professor at Technological Educational Institute of Sterea Ellada. She received both Dip. Ing. and PhD degrees from National Technical University of Athens, Electrical and Computer Engineering Dept., Greece. Her research interests lie mainly in the areas of Computer networks and Information-and-Communication-Technologies including a) routing protocols and trust management in Wireless Sensor Networks, b) control plane technologies in broadband networks including HFC, PON, WDM metro and core networks, c) embedded and network system design and development and d) IoT enabled solutions for different application sectors like energy efficiency/optimisation in buildings and for affect detection in learning environments. Currently she is working on blockchain technologies and their use in the supply chain, in crowdsourcing solutions and in educational credits validation applications combining blockchain technologies with IoT and Artificial Intelligence technologies. Her research results have been published in more than 50 scientific journals and more than 70 in other means like conferences and books. She is the scientific coordinator of the H2020-ASSET project. She has participated in more than 20 EU-funded ACTS, IST, ICT and H2020 research projects in the above areas. She also acts as evaluator for national and H2020 proposals.
