Biography

Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the São Carlos School of Engineering (USP). Holds a Bachelor's and Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from the Faculty of Engineering of Ilha Solteira - UNESP. Has a technical background in Machining Mechanics from the SENAI Manoel José Ferreira School. Was an undergraduate research student at the São Paulo Research Foundation (FAPESP) for three years, studying topics related to Structural Health Monitoring (SHM). During his undergraduate studies, he conducted a research internship at Duke University, in Durham, NC, USA, under the supervision of Professor Earl Dowell, and during his Ph.D., at the University of Michigan, under the supervision of Professor Daniel Inman. His research interests include structural health monitoring, wave propagation, metamaterials, and smart structures.
