Biography
Prof. Raúl J. Andrade is full Professor of Medicine, Faculty of Medicine at the University of Malaga and Director of the Service of Gastroenterology and Hepatology, University Hospital of Málaga (Spain). He is also the director of the Spanish DILI Registry network (www.spanishdili.uma.es) and of the Spanish Latin-American DILI Network (www.slatindili.uma.es).
He is member of The Networked Biomedical Centre for Research into Hepatic and Digestive Diseases (CIBERehd) as the principal investigator. He is also the member of the European Network of Centres for Pharmacoepidemiology and Pharmacovigilance (ENCePP) of the European Medicines Agency (EMA), of the International Serious Adverse Event Consortium (ISAEC), member of the steering committee of the Standardization Phenotype Project of the ISAEC and Expert of the Spanish Medicines Agency in the Evaluation of liver safety of drugs. He is also member of the steering committee of the Group of Special Interest in Hepatotoxicity sponsored by the American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases as well as member of the working team on the Cholestatic and Drug-induced Liver Disease section of the EASL HEPAMAP project. He was guest of Honor of the Medical Sciences Faculty, National University of Rosario of Argentine (2012) and was Part of the Reviewing board for the EASL International Liver Congress™ (2013) He contributes in pre- & postgraduate teaching at University of Málaga (since 1982). He received grants from the European Association for the Study of the Liver (EASL), the Carlos III Health Institute, the Andalusian Ministry of Health, CIBERehd, the Iberoamerican Postgraduate University Association (AUIP), the University of Málaga, the Spanish Foundation for Funcional Gastrointestinal Disorders (FEAD), the Economics, Innovation and Science Regional Ministry, the International SAEC Consortium LTD y Bioiberica S.A. Also, he is partner of the Innovative Medicines Initiative IMI-2008-T5 SAFE-T Safer and faster Evidence Based Translation of the European Union Grant Agreement number 523 705 for the development of biomarkers in drug-induced liver injury. He is member of the editorial board of: Current Drug Safety, World Journal of Gastroenterology, International Journal of Clinical Pharmacology and Therapeutics, Hepatology, Gastroenterology and Hepatology. External referee of : Gastroenterology, Hepatology, Journal of Hepatology, Alimentary Pharmacology &Therapeutics, The Lancet, Drug Safety, Clinical Infectious Diseases among others high rated journals… He published more than 200 articles in peer-review journals, 6 clinical cases, and 43 book chapters. He has an h index of 31. He presented more than 320 communications in International & National Scientific Meetings, either as oral or poster, having the respective abstracts published. He gave more than 120 invited talks in International & National Spanish Meetings.
