Biography

Dr. Muhammad Remanul Islam is a dedicated Postdoctoral Associate at The University of Minnesota, specializing in energy storage devices, polymer composites and coatings. With a strong foundation in chemical engineering and materials science, Dr. Islam is passionate about advancing knowledge and innovation in materials science. Before joining in the University of Minnesota Dr. Islam served for the University of Kuala Lumpur as an assistant professor for the last 9 years. He supervised 1 PhD and 1 masters student. He secured a number of research grants and published more than 90 journal articles and book chapters.
During his doctoral studies at the Universiti of Malaysia Pahang, he explored biopolymer synthesis and their application as a coating material, contributing to a number of good quality publication. Dr. Islam is currently focusing on conversion of solar energy to electrical energy, carbon di oxide capture, conversion and utilization, aiming to address the global crisis of climate change and its adverse effect.
Beyond research, he actively engages in teaching, mentoring and collaborative projects, striving to foster knowledge-sharing and interdisciplinary connections.
