Biography

Daniel López del Rincón holds a Ph.D. in Art History and is a professor at the University of Barcelona.
He is the director of the R&D project TEIDE (“Temporalities of Emergency. Imaginaries, Diagnostics, and Ecologies”). He leads the TIEMPHA research group (www.tiempha.es) at the University of Barcelona.
His work has deeply explored the various intersections between nature, technoscience, and artistic practice, leading to the publication of books such as Bioarte. arte y vida en la era de la biotecnología (Akal, 2015), Naturalezas Mutantes. Del Bosco al bioarte (Sans Soleil, 2017), and Tiempos de Emergencia (Ed. Tirant Lo Blanch, 2023). He has also curated exhibitions including Postnature. The Future is Present (Ars Electronica in Linz, Austria, 2019), Bioarte en Argentina* (Art Center of the National University of La Plata, Argentina, 2023.
He has been a researcher and visiting professor at various national and international institutions, such as the Courtauld Institute of Art in London, the Ars Electronica Center in Linz, the University of Buenos Aires and the National University of La Plata, the Tres de Febrero University in Buenos Aires, the José de Caldas District University in Bogotá, the Complutense University of Madrid, Pompeu Fabra University, CCEBA, CENDEAC, and MACBA, among others.
