Biography
Jiong Zhang is currently an associate professor of the Group of Intelligent Medical Imaging (iMED) at Institute of Biomedical Engineering, Ningbo Institute of Materials Technology and Engineering, Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS). He obtained his PhD degree from the IMAG/e group at Eindoven University of Technology (TU/e), Eindhoven, the Netherlands in 2017. Afterwards, he worked as a postdoctoral research associate at TU/e. From 2018 he continued postdoctoral research at Laboratory of NeuroImaging (LONI) at Keck School of Medicine, University of Southern California (USC), Los Angeles, USA. His research interests include AI-based ophthalmic image processing, ophthalmic microvascular analysis, cerebrovascular analysis, and shape analysis. In the last few years, he has published over 70 papers in leading medical imaging journals and conferences. He is the Associate Editor of BMJ Open Ophthalmology, and has been actively involved in the guest editorship of several special issues in leading journals including IEEE Journal of Biomed. and Health Inform., and academic services such as the Publicity/Area Chair of ICCCV (2022, 2023), Program Committee of AAAI (2022), CVPR workshop CVPM (2019-2023), ICCV workshop CVPM (2019) , MICCAI workshop OMIA (2017-current), VSIP (2021) and etc.
