Biography
I primarily teach pharmacology and forensic toxicology at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. I hold a Bachelor of Pharmacy (BPharm) degree from the Federal University of Paraná, Brazil, a Master of Research (MRes) in Pharmaceutical Sciences from the same institution, and a PhD in Forensic Medicine and Science from the University of Glasgow, which I completed in 2018.
With over 8 years of experience in Forensics, including 4 years working at the Scientific Police in Brazil, I have been involved in hundreds of forensic toxicology cases.
In addition to my teaching roles, I am a collaborator lecturer at the University of West of Paraná, Brazil, where I lead and teach the courses Foundations of Health Technology Assessment and Decision Modelling for Health Economics. I also work as a Health Technology Assessment (HTA) consultant, specialising in decision modelling for major pharmaceutical companies.
I stay actively engaged in various professional activities. I am currently an Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) Lead, an academic editor for PLoS One, and an external examiner for other higher education institutions. Previously, I chaired the Athena Swan LGBTQ+ Working Group for the Institute of Health and Wellbeing at the University of Glasgow.
Together with my BN Team, I won the MVLS Teaching Excellence Award 2021-22.
