Biography

Dr Eva Bulgrin is an honorary research fellow in the Centre for International Education at the University of Sussex (CIE), where she completed her PhD. Her doctoral thesis explored the discursive and social practices of those involved in pre-and primary education in Benin within the decentralisation policy, 2010. Currently, she is also a postdoctoral researcher at the Philipps-University of Marburg (Germany). Her research interests extend from basic to higher education and include postcolonial and intersectional theories; gender & identity; issues of quality, equity & inclusion; governance, globalisation, democracy & power as well as different approaches to teaching and learning. She is particularly interested in using creative and visual strategies to 'produce', analyse, and write up data to engage in dialogue with different theoretical paradigms and their implications for writing up her research projects. Before and during her research career, she worked as an education & development advisor in Global South contexts, notably, West Africa and the South Caucasus.
