Personal information

Biography

Dr. Vitalis Ikenna Chukwuike is a highly motivated chemist, with extensive academic research experience and interest in the area of nanomaterials, nanocomposite, ionic liquid, electrochemistry, material chemistry, inorganic material synthesis, in-situ coating and metal corrosion protection. Multi-talented with all-round technical skills to operate advanced analytical instruments such XRD, SEM, UV-Visible, FT-IR, nanoindentation, Potentiostat and laser Raman. He has published more than 30 articles and 5 book chapters in reputable high impact factor journals. He has attended two local and six international conferences where he presented his works which have worn him three awards, the most recent of them is a Best Paper Award in the year 2020 by the Royal Society of Chemistry, Uk. He was awarded the UNESCO scholarship grant to carry out his Ph.D in India under the World Academy of Science (TWAS) in 2016. Upon his return from India, he has assisted in the procurement and installation of an electrochemical instrument (potentiostat, PGSTAT 204 model, from Netherland for Africa Center of Excellence in Oilfield Chemical Research, University of Port Harcourt, financially sponsored by The World Bank, in the year 2021. He is a member of the American chemical society (ACS), Chemical society of Nigeria (CSN), National Association of corrosion engineers (NACE USA) and Institute of chattered chemist of Nigeria (ICCON). He has undergone more than 10 online seminars on skill and personal development. He is a Reviewer to five different journals. He likes creative thinking and plays table tennis at his leisure time.
