Biography

Dr. Wan Fairos Wan Yaacob is a senior lecturer of Department of Statistics, Universiti Teknologi MARA Cawangan Kelantan, Malaysia and the Head of Business Datalytics Research Group. In view of her past experience and contribution in management position, she was appointed as Deputy Rector of Research and Industrial Linkage of UiTM Cawangan Kelantan. She had a basic statistics degree from Universiti Teknologi MARA, Master of Science in Statistics from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia and PhD in Statistics from Universiti Teknologi MARA. Her doctoral research in statistics involved the construction and evaluation of panel count model for road accidents. In her research, she focused on the development of panel count model estimator and evaluations on model parameters using monte-carlo simulation. Her main expertise and interests are in the area of traffic accident modelling and dengue disease model. Dr. Wan Fairos has several research publications in well-known international Journals and conferences focusing on data mining, road accident modelling and dengue disease model. She is also the elected fellow of Malaysian Institute of Transport (MITRANS). In addition to her passion in modelling count data in the area of road accident, she is also active in conducting research in medical area such as modelling spatial and temporal model using hierarchical Bayesian method for dengue fever outbreak. She has a number of government funded research projects as the principle investigator. She is a member of Institute of Statistics Malaysia, International Association of Engineers (IAENG) and certified as Rapid Miner Data Analyst by RapidMiner. Her core teachings courses are Fundamental of Data Mining, Multivariate Analysis and SAS programming language. From her research, Dr. Wan Fairos Wan Yaacob has published more than 30 papers. Her work has been cited in more than 100 papers (H-Index 6 and I-Index 4). She also has been the invited speaker for intensive courses on panel count model and data mining workshops and conferences in and out of the University
