Biography

PhD in Forest Resources from the University of São Paulo/Escola Superior de Agricultura "Luiz de Queiroz" USP/ESALQ (2022), a Master's in Environmental and Forest Sciences from the Universidade Federal Rural do Rio de Janeiro - UFRRJ (2017), and a Bachelor’s in Forest and Environmental Engineering from the Universidad Nacional Amazónica de Madre de Dios - UNAMAD (2008). He was a Full Professor at the Universidad Nacional Amazónica de Madre de Dios from January 2011 to 2020.

Throughout his career, he has held various positions, including: Head of the Industry and Forest Control Area at the “Technical Forest and Wildlife Management Administration Tambopata – Manu” (2008-2009), Head of the Xylotheque at UNAMAD (2010-2019), Head of the Wood Anatomy Laboratory (2017-2019), Forest Expert in Wood for the Superior Court of Justice of Madre de Dios, and Head of Monitoring and Evaluation for the Consorcio Madre de Dios – ICAA II (2011-2015).

He is the Administrator of the blog Maderas de Madre de Dios: http://maderasdemadrededios.blogspot.com/, where he shares research and resources related to wood. His areas of expertise include Wood Anatomy, Wood Technological Properties, Dendrochronology, and Tropical Wood Identification.

Currently, he is a Full-Time Associate Professor (2023) at the School of Forest Engineering of the Faculty of Engineering and Agricultural Sciences at the Universidad Nacional Toribio Rodríguez de Mendoza de Amazonas, and has assumed the role of Director of the School of Forest Engineering for the 2023-2024 period.
