Biography

Durability and performance of structural and engineering materials including steel, concrete, masonry, timber and polymers. Corrosion of metals. Development and selection of surface treatments and coatings for enhanced durability of steel and reinforced concrete. Sustainability and reuse of materials and development of recycling protocols. Research and development of investigation techniques and protective systems for plain, reinforced and pre-stressed concrete and steel-framed structures, including cathodic protection, coatings and corrosion inhibitors. Preparation of expert evidence on structural materials including moisture ingress and control, corrosion, cathodic protection, coatings, road surfacing, fasteners and welding, reinforced and pre-stressed concrete, polymers and stainless steels.
