Biography

I am Abdul Bari Shah, currently serving as a Research Professor in Korea University. I have completed my postdoc from Natural Products Research Institute, College of Pharmacy at Seoul National University. Holding PhD in Organic and Natural Product Chemistry from Gyeongsang National University, South Korea, I specialize in exploring the realm of natural products derived from Plants, Fungi, and Bacteria. My proficiency extends to employing advanced spectroscopic techniques, particularly NMR and LCMS, along with Molecular Networking to unravel the intricate compositions of these natural entities.

With a keen focus on biological activities, including a comprehensive understanding of enzyme kinetics, antioxidant properties, LDL oxidation, cell culture techniques, antimicrobial effects and many more, I am dedicated to delving deeper into the vast reservoirs of natural compounds.

My ongoing research revolve around discovering novel bioactive small molecules from foods microbes, human microbiomes, particularly those related to probiotics. Also from plant and fungi. Furthermore, I am passionately engaged in the development of dereplication methods, aiming to establish a comprehensive spectral database of natural compounds.

Driven by a profound commitment to the advancement of human health and well-being, my ultimate objective is to contribute significantly to the development of innovative and efficacious drugs.
