Biography
Prof. Umesh B. Kakde is a Professor of Botany and a distinguished [Ecology and Environmental Biotechnology] researcher with over forty-five publications in reputed journals. He has more than 25 years of research experience in the fields of ecology and environment. He has successfully guided eight research scholars toward a Ph.D. degree, and many students are perusing the degree under his supervision. Prof. Kakde is the recipient of the Eminent Researchers in Environmental Biotechnology, Eminent Researchers in Life Sciences, and Lifetime Achievement Awards in the fields of environmental biotechnology in the UAE, Singapore, and Thailand, respectively. He was trained at the National Environmental Engineering Research Institute, Nagpur, and specializes in ecology and environmental issues and their solutions. Currently, he is focused on projects like phytoremediation, solid waste management, carbon sequestration, bioaerosols, and the and the impact and assessment of developmental activities on water quality, which aim to control pollution and restore environmental balance naturally. He is a fellow of many recognized scientific societies and serves as a reviewer for many national and international journals of repute, like Tylor and Francis, Elsevier, and Springer Nature Applied Sciences
