Biography

In the year 1998 I graduated at the Faculty of Sciences in Split, Study Group Biology - Chemistry and achieved the title of professor of Biology and Chemistry. I attended postgraduate studies in "Basic and clinical medical sciences" direction Clinical Physiology at the Medical School in Split and in the year 2007 got awarded the title of Master of Science field of biomedicine and health care, scientific field of Basic medical sciences, scientific branches of neuroscience. Postgraduate study Translational Research in Biomedicine and Health (TRIBE) I started the year 2010 also at the Medical School in Split. In the year 2015. I have got my PhD in the scientific field of Basic medical sciences, scientific branches of cytology, histology and embryology. Since 1998th to 2011th, I worked as a teacher of Biology and Chemistry at several elementary schools in Split, I was a mentor to students at regional and state competitions and worked as head of the Expert council of Chemistry in Dalmatia within which I have held more workshops, lectures and seminars on various topics of professional and methodical issues. During this time I have been systematically improved in my profession. In the year 2011 I have started working as a lecturer at the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities, University of Split at the Teacher Education Department where I teach Natural Science and group of courses regarding global ecological issues and sustainable development (Climate change, Environmental protection and Man, health and environment). For several years I collaborated on coursework Teaching Methods of Natural and Social Science and Research Science and Society. I was a Head of the Teacher Education Department for three years (2020. - 2023.). Today I am working as Assistant Professor and as a Deputy Head of the Department of Teacher Studies. Also from year 2022, I am a Head of the Center for Transdisciplinary promotion of the Sustainable Development – OdRaST and Chairman of the Committee for Monitoring the Activities of Sustainable Development Goal 13 Climate change at the University of Split, Croatia.
Under my mentorship 34 students have graduated. My fields of interest are environmental education and education for the sustainability in modern society as well as light and electron microscopy and immunohistochemistry. I am member of Croatian Microscopy Society and European Microscopy Society.
