Biography

Dr Kevin Lowe is a Gubbi Gubbi man from South-East Queensland. He has been a teacher, education administrator, University lecturer and manager of curriculum development and implementation in New South Wales. He has experience as a teacher in schools, vocational education, and universities and held been actively involved in Aboriginal organisations. Over the last 20 years, his work is focused on establishing collaborative educational projects with Aboriginal communities, schools and education systems with a particular focus on the development of effective schooling practices which are based on authentic community learning partnerships.
He is currently an Associate Professor and Scientia Indigenous Research Fellow in the School of Education at the University of New South Wales, and a co-leader in the Aboriginal Voices project and the Culturally Nourishing Schools project.
