Biography
Dr Michael Carey is a quantitative researcher with over 20 years’ experience in successfully developing mixed-methods designs in education research, including evaluation of education programs to evaluate their implementation, impact and transformation as measurable and evidenced outcomes. He has been chief investigator in funded research projects and contracts with collaborating education partners (Steiner Education Australia; Pearson Education Australia; AusAID/Willi-Toisuta & Assoc.; MiltonCollege) and assessment bodies (IDP/IELTS Australia) which have led to publications in peer-reviewed education journals. Dr Carey has won two Commonwealth Government Office of Learning and Teaching awards (2012, 2014) for his academic coordination of an international education capacity building project in Papua Indonesia and for his supervision of students and mentoring of colleagues in research and teaching. He currently is co-coordinator of the Masters research methods course for pre-confirmation HDR students: EDN705 Education Research Theories and Methodologies.
